April 21, 2020 - Reformatory Branch Trail

Welcome to Susan's Bay Circuit Diary! This blog follows my adventures with my dog Sulu hiking the Bay Circuit Trail.  Feel free to subscribe (see the little "subscribe" oval above). The rest of the past posts can be found using the little menu on the left.  If you are curious how this all started, go here.

I was looking for a new place to run Sulu but knowing I would compromise by bikejoring.  At least he gets to run, if not choose his own path and speed.  It was raining lightly so I figured those fair-weather Corona walkers would be staying home.  I parked at a conservation area close to the beginning of the Reformatory Branch rail trail - also part of the BCT! The Reformatory Branch trail is lovely for bikejoring when you have it to yourself because it’s smooth packed dirt. It skims by some other conservation lands including Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge.  No photos, because hey, I'm riding a bike, it's raining, and there's a dog pulling me. But here's a bad video of us bikejoring on a trail in Concord:
